The Criminal Petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for brevity ‘the Cr.P.C.,’)/Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (for brevity ‘the BNSS’) seeking to quash the proceedings against the Petitioners/Accused Nos.1 to 4 in Crime No.284 of 2024 of Mahila Urban Police Station, Visakhapatnam Commissionerate, registered for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 85, 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

Sri Sapthagiri Metta, the learned counsel for the Petitioners, seeks permission to file a fresh petition in view of the charge sheet filed by the Police.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is disposed of, granting liberty to the Petitioners to file a fresh petition, if so advised, in accordance with law and in light of the charge sheet filed by the Police.

As a sequel, Miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed.
