The Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed on behalf of the petitioners/Accused Nos.2 and 5 to quash the proceedings in Calendar Case No.494 of 2021 pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Palasa, arising out of a case in Crime No.1117 of 2020 of Kasibugga Police Station, Srikakulam, registered for the offences punishable under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961.

The matter has come up before this Court on 02.04.2026 by virtue of a Lunch Motion moved by the learned counsel for the petitioners/A2 and A5.

When the matter is taken up, Ms. S.L.N.Harika, learned counsel for petitioners/accused Nos.2 and 5 submits that the case has been compromised between the parties, and pursuant to the same, the petitioners/accused Nos.2 and 5, along with other accused, intend to fresh Criminal Petition along with Compromise Petition to quash the case proceedings.
