Contempt Case No. 1859 of 2015 (High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati, sole bench of Justice Maheswara Rao Kuncheam, order dated 24.02.2026): Seventeen serving police officers — additional superintendents of police, deputy superintendents of police and one assistant commissioner of police of the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana police establishment — had filed a contempt petition under Sections 10 to 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act 1971 against six senior State officials (the Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries (Home) and Directors General of Police of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), alleging willful non-implementation of this Court's interim order dated 21.08.2015 in W.P. No. 26558 of 2015. The instant contempt case has been filed alleging the violation of the interim order of this Court passed in W.P.No.26558 of 2015, dated 21.08.2015.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel for

the petitioners submits that, the petitioners are not inclined to pursue the present contempt case.

Recording the above said submission, the contempt case is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, all pending applications shall stand closed.
