Heard Sri K. Joseph, learned counsel for the petitioner^{andSriVineeth} Appasani, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Civil Supplies appearing for the respondents.

The grievance of the writ petitioner is against the^{inactionofthe} respondent No.2 in not taking steps to release the seized stock of 168 bags of rice under Section 6(a) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

It is contended that the writ petitioner is a Fair Price Shop Dealer of Shop No.0781165 of Guntur City. On 03.11.2024, an inspection was conducted at his shop, and the authorities seized the stocks of rice. Accordingly, a case was registered under Section 6(a) of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. Pending disposal of Section 6(a) proceedings, the petitioner sought the release of stock that was seized from the petitioner’s shop during inspection. Seeking release of the stock the petitioner has filed an application on 19-06-25 before the 2"^ respondent and the same has not yet been considered and disposed.

Having regard to the same and the submissions made,^thisCourt deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition directing the respondent No.2 to consider and pass appropriate orders on the application filed by the

petitioner, dated 19.06.2025 within a period of four (04) weeks from the date

of receipt of the order.
