These Criminal Petitions under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short “Cr.P.C.”) are filed seeking quash of the F.I.Rs filed against the petitioners in Crime No.179 of 2022 of Markapur Town Police Station, Prakasam District registered for the offences punishable under Sections 20(2), 24(1), 6(A) read with Sections 7(1), 8(1)(c) and 10 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade an Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 (for short ‘COTP Act’); in Crime No.96 of 2022 of Bapatla Town Police Station, Guntur District registered for the offences punishable under Sections 273, 272 and 420 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (for short ‘IPC’); in Crime No.318 of 2022 of Tadepalli Police Station, Guntur Urban District registered for the offences punishable under Sections 272, 273 and 284 of IPC; in Crime Nos.93 of 2022 and 75 of 2022 of Ongole II Town Police Station, Prakasam District registered for the offence punishable under Section 24(1) read with Section 6 of the COTP Act; and proceedings in C.C.No.182 of 2022 on the file of the Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class at Bobbili for the offence punishable under Section 5(1) read with Section 22 of COTP Act respectively.
