In view of the request made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and the submission of the learned Standing Counsel, no further adjudication in these writ petitions is required and it would be suffice to direct the respondents to conduct review of the performance of the petitioners to extend their contractual terms as mentioned in the letter, dated 28.5.2020, and if they are found not eligible or qualified to continue, it is left open to the respondent University to take appropriate action to discontinue to engage their services on contract basis. However, in view of such submission made by Sri Suresh Anand that any appointment made in pursuance of this notification will not remove the selection of teaching faculties and the respondent University is not intended to remove the employees working on contract basis but their engagement is subject to review of their performance only, the respondents are directed to conduct review of the performance of the petitioners herein and if they are found suitable to continue based on review of performance, let the respondents take appropriate action in terms of the contract within four (4) weeks from today.
