Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the records.

By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has prayed for a direction to the respondent Nos. 2 to correct the name of the petitioner as 'Saloni' in place of 'Sanoli' in her Aadhaar records.

Learned counsel for the respondent submits that a simple representation would not do the needful. He submits that as per the standing operating procedure provided under the Janhit Guarantee Act 2011, petitioner is required to first get a Gazette notification of her changed name as she wants and after Gazette notification she can get an application filed before the regional office of the respondent no. 2 to get her name changed in the Aadhaar records.

After getting changed her name notified vide gazette notification, petitioner shall apply before competent authority namely respondent no. 2 for change of name in her Aadhaar records, and if she moves any such application, that shall be disposed of by respondent no. 2 within a further period of six weeks.

With the aforesaid observations and directions, this petition stands disposed of.
