Heard Sri Surya Shanker Pandey, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State respondent nos.1 to 4. Sri Sudhir Bharti, Advocate has accepted notice on behalf of respondent no.5.

It is contended by the learned counsel for the petitioner that pursuant to his complaint made against the Gram Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Jamaru, Development Block Brahmpur, District Gorakhpur, an enquiry under Section 95(1)(g) of the U.P. Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 was initiated and an Enquiry Officer was appointed to conduct preliminary enquiry, by the District Magistrate, Gorakhpur vide order dated 30.10.2024. However, till date neither any enquiry report has been submitted nor any further action has been taken to bring the enquiry to its logical end.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn attention of the Court to the letter of Enquiry Officer, dated 30.07.2025, written to the Block Development Officer, Brahmpur for providing relevant documents to conduct preliminary enquiry but due to lack of his cooperation, no further action was undertaken.

In view of the aforesaid, the present petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondent no.2 to get the enquiry initiated against the concerned Gram Pradhan, by his order dated 30.10.2024, concluded, in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of one month from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.
