Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel, and perused the record.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the order dated 21.01.2026, whereby his pensionary benefits have been denied for want of regularization of his service.

It is submitted that the petitioner was appointed in the year 1998 to the post of Assistant Teacher, L.T. Grade, and he attained the age of superannuation on 31 March 2023. It is further submitted that the matter relating to regularization of the petitioner's service has been pending consideration before the Regional Selection Committee, respondent no. 3, since 2016; however, till date, no effective measures have been taken by respondent no. 3 to decide the said matter.

Learned Standing Counsel has prayed for and is granted two weeks' time to seek instructions from the Regional Selection Committee, respondent no. 3, as to why the matter relating to regularization of the petitioner's service has not been decided since 2016 till date.
