Heard learned counsel for the applicant and learned AGA for the State/opposite party no.1.

The applicant has approached this Court for getting a direction issued to the court of Additional Principal Judge, Court No.06, Lucknow (in short "Family Court") to decide application for interim maintenance filed in Case No.2781 of 2024, filed under Section 144 of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita.

The aforesaid case of the applicant is pending since 22.11.2024. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that proviso to Section 144(1) of BNSS provides that an application for the monthly allowance for the interim maintenance and expenses of proceeding under the second proviso shall, as far as possible, be disposed of within sixty days from the date of the service of notice of the application to such person.

In view of the aforesaid, the Family Court is directed to expedite the proceedings of Case No.2781 of 2024, without granting unnecessary adjournment to the parties, in accordance with law, if there is no other legal impediment.

This application stands disposed of.
