Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench (Abdul Moin and Babita Rani, JJ.) allowed a criminal misc. writ petition filed by Mohammad Irfan seeking quashing of FIR No. 0781 dated 23.11.2024 of Police Station PGI, District Lucknow, registered under Sections 85, 352, 351(3) and 69 of the B.N.S., 2023 and Section 3/5 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2024 — the said provisions having been added by the Investigation Officer during investigation. By order dated 24.01.2025 the Court had referred the matter to its mediation centre; the centre's report vide 25.07.2025 recorded in paragraph (E) that the parties had decided to settle their dispute amicably and to end the dispute. Holding the settlement sufficient, the Court allowed the petition and quashed the proceedings of the said FIR. Judgment dated February 5, 2026.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Government Advocate for respondents no.1 to 3, and Sri Rudra Pratap Singh, Advocate holding brief of Sri Vimlesh Kumar Kashyap, learned counsel appearing for respondent no.4.

Instant petition has been filed praying for quashing of the first information report dated 23.11.2024 bearing no.0781, under Sections 85, 352, 351 (3) of B.N.S., 2023 and Section 69 of B.N.S, 2023 & Section 3/5 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2024 which have been added by the Investigation Officer during investigation lodged at Police Station PGI, District Lucknow.

This Court vide order dated 24.01.2025 had sent the matter to the mediation center of this Court with the direction to conclude the mediation proceedings amongst the parties and submit its report.

In pursuance to the order of this Court dated 24.01.2025 the mediation center of this Court has submitted its report vide its 25.07.2025 by which in paragraph (E), the parties have decided to settle their dispute amicably and agreed to end the dispute.
