1. Heard Shri Pankaj Kumar Gupta, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for respondent nos.1 to 7.

1. The present petition has been filed challenging the order of respondent no.3/District Panchayat Raj Officer, Chandauli dated 11.11.2025 pursuant to which the petitioner has been directed to pay a sum of Rs.2,85,880/- in the Gram Nidhi account within a week.

1. It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that the order dated 11.11.2025 has been passed behind the back of the petitioner, no inquiry regarding the misappropriation of funds had been held. He had not been afforded any notice or opportunity before passing the aforesaid order. The recovery proceedings contemplated against the petitioner is neither under Section 27 of the U.P. Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 nor under the MGNREGA Scheme.
