Petitioner's husband died while on duty during Covid-19.
District Magistrate, Ghaziabad on 14th September, 2023, has already recommended petitioner's claim for payment of exgratia amount of Rs. 50 lacs to the State Government. Grievance is that despite expiry of sufficient period, necessary funds have not been released for the purposes, as a result of which, the petitioner has been denied ex-gratia amount.
Learned Standing Counsel states that the petitioner's grievance would be examined by the competent authority, in accordance with law.
In the facts and circumstances, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction upon the respondent no. 2 to accord consideration to the petitioner's claim, noticed above, keeping in view the recommendation made by the District Magistrate, by means of a reasoned order to be passed within a period of two months, from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
