Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Additional Government Advocate for the State-respondents No. 1 to 4. Vakalatnama has been filed on behalf of respondent No.5 by Sri Awanish Kumar Bhatt, learned Advocate.

The petition has been filed praying for quashing of the First Information Report dated 25.06.2024 bearing no.0261 of 2024 under Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act and Sections 427, 323, 498-A of I.P.C. lodged at Police Station- Sarojini Nagar, District Lucknow. Further prayer is for a mandamus commanding the respondents not to proceed, prosecute or arrest the petitioners in pursuance to the aforesaid FIR.

This Court vide order dated 14.07.2025, after hearing learned counsel for the contesting parties had referred the matter to the mediation and conciliation centre of this Court.

In pursuance thereof the mediation centre of this Court has submitted its report dated 09.10.2025, which is on record per which the parties concerned have agreed to settle the dispute amongst themselves amicably.

In terms of the mediation report more particularly paragraph 6-H, the parties concerned have indicated the cases which have been filed against each other of which Case Crime No.261 of 2024, is also mentioned whereby they have indicated that the parties have agreed to withdraw / not pursue the cases filed by them against each other and the family members and they have no objection if this Court decides the cases in terms of the settlement

Considering the aforesaid paragraph 6-H of the report of mediation and conciliation centre, the writ petition is allowed and the impugned FIR bearing FIR/Case Crime no.0261 of 2024 under Sections 427, 323, 498-A I.P.C. and Section 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act lodged at Police Station- Sarojini Nagar, District Lucknow is hereby quashed.
