Heard Sri Amit Kumar Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned Standing counsel on behalf of the respondents.

It has been submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is son of license holder of Sri Jai Bahadur Singh and is doing business, as such, is in need of arm's license for his protection and security. He moved application on 18.10.2023 under Rule 25 of the Arms Rules, 2016 for arm's license of his father who is aged about more than 70 years. It is further submitted that police report was also called and was submitted but despite the same District Magistrate, District Amethi has not passed any order on the said application and despite repeated representations for early disposal of the application no action has been taken and accordingly prayer has been made for a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. District Magistrate, Amethi to decide the application for grant of fire arms' license, expeditiously,

Learned Standing counsel does not object to the prayer made by the petitioner.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate, Amethi i.e. respondent No.2 to consider and decide the application of the petitioner dated 18.10.2023, expeditiously, say within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is placed before him in accordance with law and communicate the decision to the petitioner.
