Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

With the consent of learned counsels for the parties, the writ petition is being decided finally.

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner states that he does not intend to press relief no.2 and prays that he may be permitted to delete relief no.2.

Ordered accordingly.

Instant petition has been filed praying for a mandamus commanding the respondent no.2 to renew the firearm license of the petitioner bearing No.LN.1170.

The contention of learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner had applied for renewal of firearm license on 06.10.2023 through his application, a copy of which is Annexure-2 to the writ petition, which is still pending for consideration before the competent authority and no order upon the same has been passed till date.

Accordingly, without entering into the merits of the case and keeping in view the fact that petitioner's application for renewal of firearm license is pending, present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no.2 to pass suitable order on the said application for renewal of firearm license of the petitioner in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
