Heard learned counsel for petitioner and Mr. Rishabh Kapoor, learned Counsel appearing on behalf of opposite parties.

Petition has been filed seeking a direction to competent authority to consider petitioner's case for appointment on compassionate basis in terms of relevant Rules applicable upon the Corporation. Further prayer for payment of outstanding dues admissible to late Rana Prasad Verma alongwith interest has also been sought.

It has been submitted that Mr. Rana Prasad was employee on a Class IV post with the Corporation and passed away on 18.12.2009 but prior to that, he had adopted the petitioner by means of a registered adoption deed dated 18.11.2009. It is submitted that at the time of death of Mr. Rana Prasad Verma, petitioner was a minor and attained majority on 15.02.2022.

Upon attaining majority, petitioner has made an application for compassionate appointment dated 15.12.2023 which is still pending consideration. At present learned counsel for petitioner restricts his prayer for a final decision with regard to same.

Considering innocuous prayer being made by learned counsel for petitioner and without entering into the merits of the case, opposite party No.2 i.e. Chief Engineer (A-3) U.P. Jal Nigam (Nagriya), Lucknow is directed to consider and decide representation dated 15.12.2023 within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before said authority.

With the aforesaid direction, petition stands disposed of .
