Present writ petition has been preferred for a direction to respondents to decide the claim of the petitioner for payment of compensation on account of death of her husband, who was Asstt. Teacher, due to Corona Virus, while on duty in Panchayat Election, 2021.
It is also contended that Director, Panchayati Raj, U.P., Lucknow has issued a letter dated 6.7.2022 to Special Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, U.P. Lucknow that the case of the petitioner is covered under the Govt. Order No.2312/33-3-3021 dated 22.12.2021, therefore, the proposal for payment of compensation of petitioner’s husband has been referred to State Government. However, it is contended that no decision has been taken in the matter as yet.
Be that as it may, without adverting on the merits of the case, on consent, the writ petition is disposed of asking respondent no.1 to consider the claim of the petitioner and take a final decision in the matter expeditiously, strictly in accordance with law.
