1. Heard Sri Tripathi B.G. Bhai, learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri Amit Manohar Sahai, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State respondents.

2. This writ petition has been filed praying for the following relief:-

"(I) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondent authorities, directing the respondent authorities, specifically respondent No.3 to ensure the compliance of the order dated 11.05.2018 passed by the Scrutiny Committee and 24.09.2018 passed by the District Magistrate, Etah and to issue the case certificate of "Baheliya" to the petitioners within stipulated period as specified by this Hon'ble Court."

Learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel states on instructions of the respondents that caste certificate to the petitioner no.1 has been issued by the Tehsildar, Tehsil Sadar, Etah on 15.05.2023. He further states that caste certificate application of the petitioner no.2 shall also be disposed of within a week.

4. In view of the stand taken by learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel, we dispose of this writ petition with a direction to the respondent no.3-Tehsildar, Tehsil Sadar, District Etah to decide the caste certificate application of the petitioner no.2 in accordance with law within one week from the date of submission of certified copy of this order.

5. It is made clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case of the petitioners.
