Heard Sri Brijesh Chand Kaushik, counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for respondent nos. 1 & 2.

The instant writ petition has been filed, seeking a writ of mandamus, commanding respondent no.2/Commissioner, Gorakhpur Division, Gorakhpur to decide Revision No.220-G of 2012 (Narvadeshwar vs. Yogesh Chand and Others), within the stipulated time.

Counsel for the petitioner submitted that revision filed by the contesting respondents against the order dated 25.11.2011 in the proceedings under Section 28 of the U.P. Land Revenue Act is pending before respondent no.2 since 2012 wherein the petitioner is the opposite party. Copy of the order sheet has been annexed as Annexure no.4 to the writ petition in order to demonstrate that the case is not proceeding expeditiously.

In view of the facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent no.2/Commissioner, Gorakhpur Division, Gorakhpur to decide the aforesaid proceedings to its logical conclusion, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of 4 months, from the date of production of a certified copy of this order before the authority concerned, without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
