Heard Sri Shishir Kumar Dwivedi, learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent-1, Sri Mahendra Kumar Mishra, holding brief of Sri Ras Bihari Pradhan, learned counsel for the respondents-3 & 4 and perused the record.

Present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution has been filed for following reliefs:

"(i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to decide the representation dated 21.10.2021 jointly moved by the petitioners make payment of the unpaid remuneration for the period of 49 months amounting to Rs. 98,000/- to the petitioner nos. 1 to 15 as well as the unpaid remuneration for the period of 40 months amounting to Rs. 80,000/- to the petitioner no. 16."

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners were engaged on 01.7.2011 as Siksha Prerak (Education Motivator) under the scheme known as Sakshar Bharat (Literate India) launched by the Central Government to achieve 80% literacy level by 2012 at national level and continue to work upto March, 2018. Thereafter, the said scheme come to an end. It is next submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners, who are 16 in number, have not been paid remuneration for the period of 49 months amounting to Rs. 98,000/- in respect of petitioner nos. 1 to 15 and remuneration for the period of 40 months amounting to Rs. 80,000/- in respect of petitioner no. 16. It is next submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that in this regard, a detailed representation has been filed before respondent no.2-Director, Saksharta Evam Vaikalpik Siksha, State Literacy Mission Authority, U.P. vide representation dated 21.10.2021, which has not been decided till date.

Learned Standing Counsel as well as counsel for the respondents-3 & 4 submits that no useful purpose would be served by keeping this writ petition pending or calling the counter affidavit and direction may be issued to concerned

respondent to decide the petitioners' representation within stipulated period.

Under these circumstances, present writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no. 2-Director, Saksharta Evam Vaikalpik Siksha, State Literacy Mission Authority, U.P. to decide the petitioners' representation dated 21.10.2021, in accordance with law by reasoned and speaking order, as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
