The order of detention dated 09.07.2020 is challenged in the present petition, term whereof was for a period of one year. It is pointed out by the learned counsel for the respondent that dispute in the present writ petition remains only for academic purposes.
None appears for the petitioner when the matter is taken up. Since the period of detention is otherwise expired, we are of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the writ petition pending. This Habeas Corpus petition, therefore, is consigned to record.
Liberty stands reserved for the petitioner to make an application for recall if he is still desirous of pressing the petition.
