Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners, learned State counsel and Shri Vimlesh Kumar, learned counsel representing the National Highway Authority of India. Shri Mahendra Kumar Mishra has also been heard for Union of India.

Submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners is that Khasra Plot No.1364 was acquired by National Highway Authority of India for the purposes of broadening of N.H.-56, however, since at the time of acquisition the area of the said plot shown in the map was less than the area shown in the khatauni as such the amount of compensation paid to the petitioners was less than what they were entitled to.

From a perusal of a letter dated 5th of September 2022 written by the Project Director, N.H.A.I. to Sub Divisional OfÏcer, Patti Pratapgarh it appears that the matter is under consideration before the appropriate authority of the National Highway Authority of India.

Accordingly, without making any observation whatsoever as to the merit of the claim of petitioners, this writ petition is finally disposed of with a direction to the appropriate authority to take decision into the grievances of the petitioners, with expedition, say within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
