Petitioner was issued a passport by the Indian Embassy at Jeddah in 2017, wherein his date of birth is recorded as 02.07.1965. Petitioner is originally a resident of Allahabad and in the passport also, his address is recorded as Mundera Bazar, Allahabad. He has annexed his high school certificate of 1985, as per which his date of birth is mentioned as 02.07.1970.
Submission is that the authorities ought to have take a decision on petitioner's application and correct his date of birth as 02.07.1970 in place of 02.07.1965. Since such application has not bestowed consideration, petitioner is before this Court.
Sri R.C. Pandey, learned counsel for respondents points out that the passport was issued to petitioner from Jeddah whereas the correction has been applied at Lucknow.
Admittedly, petitioner is a resident of Allahabad and has made application for correction in his date of birth which is liable to be examined by the second respondent particularly when petitioner is presently staying in the country.
We dispose off this writ petition with the direction upon the second respondent to examine such application of the petitioner and pass necessary orders upon it, in accordance with law, within a period of two months.
