Heard Sri Ashok Kumar Rai, learned counsel for petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for respondent nos.1 to 4.

At the very outset Sri Rai states that he is not pressing the relief (1) and his prayer is only confined to relief (2) sought in the writ petition.

It is contended that an appeal has been preferred by the petitioner on 18.01.2020 before the Principal Secretary, Rural Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, respondent no.1, on 18.01.2020, which is still pending consideration. Sri Rai submitted that a direction may be issued to respondent no.1 to decide the aforesaid appeal of the petitioner expeditiously within stipulated time, as framed by this Court.

Learned Standing Counsel does not oppose the limited prayer so made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

As no useful purpose would be served in keeping this matter pending, without going into the merits of the case this writ petition is being decided at the admission stage itself without calling for any counter affidavit with the direction upon respondent no.1 to decide the appeal dated 18.01.2020 of the petitioner expeditiously, preferably within six months from the date of production of a copy of this order downloaded from the website of this Court, by a reasoned and speaking order, strictly in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid direction, writ petition stands disposed of.
