Petitioner has filed this petition alleging that State of Uttar Pradesh had issued an advertisement for the selection and appointment of the Police Constable and Constable PAC (Male) Direct Recruitment, 2015. Petitioner was allotted Roll No.00083910 and he was issued an Admit Card for physical test. Petitioner appeared for physical test which was held on 26.04.2016 at 37 Battalion, PAC, Kanpur, U.P. and was found successful in the physical test. Thereafter, he was called for documents verification on 20.09.2016 at Police Lines, Aligarh at about 8:00 a.m. but on that day petitioner was seriously ill due to this reason, petitioner could not appear in the exercise of document verification.

It is further submitted that petitioner approached the Authority concerned on several occasions for his document verification as well as medical test but Authorities have not responded, therefore, petitioner moved an application before the respondent no.2 through registered post on 21.01.2020. Now, petitioner has sought a relief of issuance of a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to include the petitioner's name in the candidature for document verification/medical test examination.

Learned counsel though submits that petitions are pending but

when specifically asked about the proof of his illness, he submits that except for an averment in the writ petition in para5, there is no document enclosed along with the petition to support this contention.

After going through the records, it is apparent that there is no sufficient cause shown for filing this writ petition in the year 2020, when petitioner was required to appear for document's verification on 20.09.2016. Further, no cogent reason has been shown for not appearing before the Authorities for document verification and, therefore, no indulgence can be shown interfering with the process of selection at this belated stage for the lapse on the part of the petitioner in not appearing in time before the Authorities for document verification, for which admittedly petitioner was issued a provisional Admit Card as contained in Annexure-2 asking him to appear on 20.09.2016 at 8:00 a.m. for document verification.

If Writ Courts starts showing indulgence in such matters then not only the selection process will be derailed but it will amount to engage such elements who are either not serious about the selection process or have scant regard for the sanctity of the selection process. Therefore, no useful purpose is going to be served by keeping this writ petition pending, petition fails and is, accordingly, dismissed.
