The petitioner is challenging the recovery of electricity dues on the allegation that the electric connection was in the name of his father who died in the year 2000. The said electricity connection was disconnected in September, 2017 by wrongly showing the dues to be Rs.5,26,923/-. The petitioner submits that they are not liable for the payment of any dues in respect of said electricity connection and that the outstanding amount demanded is illegal and excessive.
The matter requires consideration on factual aspect and if any amount is due and payable by the petitioner as to the actual date of disconnection, the petitioner in connection with the above grievance has submitted a representation dated 27.11.2018 to the Executive Engineer (respondent No.4).
In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances, we dispose of the writ petition with the direction to respondent No.4, Executive Engineer, Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Khand, Lalganj, Azamgarh to consider the aforesaid representation of the petitioner or any fresh representation in that regard filed by the petitioner along with a copy of this order within a period of two weeks from today and to decide it within a month, thereafter.
The writ petition is disposed off.
