This petition for writ has been filed for a direction to the Chief Revenue Officer (respondent no 2) for cancelling fraudulent entries made in the record pertaining to the land received by the State as per provisions of Bhoodan Yagya Act.

While pressing the petition for writ, it is stated that the an application has been submitted by the petitioner as per provisions of section 15 (k) of the Bhoodan Yagya Act, but of no consequence.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondents, states that acting on the application preferred by the petitioner, a case has already been registered and proceedings have also been initiated to expunge the alleged fraudulent entries from the register concerned. It is also stated that an order has also been passed to maintain status quo with regard to the land in question.

In the light of the facts stated by the learned standing counsel, we deem it appropriate to dispose of this petition for writ by direction the Chief Revenue Officer, Allahabad to expedite the proceedings under section 15 (k) of Bhoodan Yagya Act and to decide the same in accordance with law expeditiously as far as possible within six months from today. The Chief Revenue Officer shall also ensure compliance of the interim orders , if any, passed by him in the proceeding concerned.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of in terms of the above directions.
