The allegation of the petitioner is that public money is being defrauded with in collusion with the authorities at State level as well as at the district level. It is stated that the respondent no. 7 has made as much as 350 appointments in 17 institutions without authority of law and also paid them salary from the State exchequer.
It is submitted by the learned Standing Counsel that necessary enquiry in the matter is in progress and necessary steps too have been taken against the persons responsible for causing defraud and injury to the State exchequer. It is also brought to our notice that some of the persons, effected from the action taken, have approached this Court and interim orders are also in their favour.
Be that as it may, in view of the fact that the State has already taken necessary steps in the matter, we are not inclined to continue this Public Interest Litigation proceedings. The same, hence, is closed.
It is expected that the State Government would conclude the enquiry proceedings and necessary action would be taken against the officer concerned expeditiously.
The petition stands disposed off.
