By means of the present petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction to the District Magistrate, Mainpuri/Licensing Authority to decide the application of the petitioner dated 2.1.2018 for grant of firearm licence in favour of the petitioner pending before it, within stipulated period.
To this prayer, learned Standing Counsel raises no objection.
Be that as it may, without entering into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the present petition is being disposed of with the direction to the District Magistrate, Mainpuri to decide the application of the petitioner dated 2.1.2018 for grant of firearm licence, expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date of submission of certified copy of this order.
It goes without saying that this Court has not entered into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner. The competent authority shall apply his own mind with the application independently and take a decision on merits.
