Before approaching this Court, the petitioner has submitted a representation to the District Magistrate, Agra on 25.08.2017 for redressal of his grievance pertaining to alleged corrupt practices adopted by officers and office bearers of the Gram Panchayat Vedpura, Vikas Khand Jaitpura Kalan, District Agra.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that no steps have yet been taken by the respondent-District Magistrate on the complaint submitted by the petitioner. An inquiry otherwise was conducted by 03 officers under an order dated 18.09.2017 wherein it was noticed that certain wrongs were committed by officers of the Gram Panchayat aforesaid.

In the instant petition for writ, a direction is sought to proceed against the office bearers of the Gram Panchayat, Vedpura in accordance with law to settle their liability.

Having considered the facts of the case, we deem it appropriate to dispose of this petition for writ by keeping the petitioner at liberty to agitate his cause before the District Magistrate, Agra and in the event of failure to get any positive response from him then before Secretary to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Department of Panchayat.
