By means of this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for quashing the impugned orders dated 15.1.1996, passed by respondent no. 2 and 27.7.1996 passed by respondent no. 1.
The brief facts of the case are that an application under Section 3 of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986 was moved by Smt. Sajiya, which was allowed vide order dated 15.1.1996 directing the petitioner Sadiq Ali to pay a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- to her. Against the said order, petitioner filed Revision No. 42 of 1996, which was dismissed on 27.7.1996, by XVI Additional District Judge, Meerut, hence the petitioner approached this Court by filing present writ petition.
Learned counsel for the opposite party no. 3 submitted that this writ petition was dismissed on 24.8.2009 and the same was restored on 28.5.2010 and since then nobody has appeared on behalf of the petitioner to press this petition.
This Court finds no illegality, impropriety, material irregularity or jurisdictional error in the impugned order. No interference is called for. The present petition lacks merit and is liable to be dismissed.
The writ petition is accordingly dismissed.
Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
